Turnaround Times
How long each stage takes and what to expect.
At a Glance
Typical processing times after upload.
Case Validation
Mesh estimation, dictionary parsing, security screening, and stability analysis. Most cases complete in 1-3 minutes.
Converge Run
Depends on mesh size, solver type, and convergence behavior. Standard tier has a 2-hour wall-time limit.
Stage-by-Stage Breakdown
| Stage | Typical Time | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Payment processing | Instant | Depends on Stripe |
| Upload link delivery | Instant | Link valid 24 hours |
| File upload | Depends on file size | 500 MB limit |
| Queue wait | Under 1 minute | Up to 15 minutes at peak |
| Validation | 1-3 minutes | 5 minutes (Standard) |
| Converge run | 30-90 minutes | 2 hours (Standard) |
| Evidence pack generation | Under 1 minute | 2 minutes |
| Results available | Instant after generation | — |
Total end-to-end: For a typical Standard-tier case with a converge run, expect results within 1-2 hours of uploading your case.
Wall-Time Limits by Tier
Each tier has a maximum wall-time limit for converge runs. If a run reaches its limit, it completes as a partial result — you still receive the evidence pack with all data generated up to that point.
| Tier | Validation Limit | Converge Run Limit | Typical Converge Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 5 minutes | 2 hours | 30-90 minutes |
| Professional | 30 minutes | 48 hours | 2-12 hours |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Depends on scope |
What Affects Processing Time
Mesh Size
The biggest factor. A 100K-cell case may converge in 5 minutes. A 3M-cell case may take 60+ minutes. The relationship is roughly linear with cell count.
Solver Type
Steady-state solvers (simpleFoam) converge faster than transient solvers (pimpleFoam). Compressible solvers take longer than incompressible. UCF stability-enhanced solvers may add a small overhead for the convergence monitoring.
Case Complexity
Complex boundary conditions, turbulence models, and multi-region setups take longer. Cases near the stability boundary may require more iterations to converge.
Queue Depth
During peak times, your job may wait in the queue briefly before a worker picks it up. Queue wait is typically under 1 minute. Your status page updates in real-time.
Tracking Your Job
After payment and upload, you receive a status page URL. This page auto-refreshes and shows:
- Current stage (queued, validating, running, completed)
- Elapsed wall time (for converge runs)
- Download links when results are ready
- Tier extension option if wall time is running short
